Williamsburg Christmas Parade - December 2, 2006 Williamsburg, VA

Liberty Baptist Church - Live Nativity - December 18, 19, 20, 2006 Lanexa, VA

Previously Attended Outings

Williamsburg Christmas Parade - December 4, 2004.

What a fantastic way to start the holiday season!  The alpacas were all decked out in garland and bows.  Artemus together with his handler Ben stole the show skipping down Duke of Gloucester Street.  Anastasia and Impact donned gold and green garland and bows.  Smith Barney was stunning in his candy cane garland with a red and white stripped bow.  Ambler's Alpacas also joined us.  Lazarus wore red garland with a beautiful red ribbon to match.  Rembrandt sported silver garland and matching bow with a touch of blue.  Last but not least, Aladdin wore blue garland with a sheer blue and silver bow.

A special thanks goes to Boy Scout Troop #521 of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, because with out them no one would have known where we were from especially since the announcer pronounced alpacas as "alpanacas".  The strong young men proudly carried our banner from the start of the parade at the Capitol on Duke of Gloucester Street to the parking lot at William and Mary Hall.  Thanks again to the BOY SCOUTS!!!

Customer Appreciation & Futurity - October 8-10, 2004

Traveling to Magical Farms in Ohio was a great experience. To tell you that the auction and futurity were anything but fantastic would be an understatement.  The food was great, the Forstner family top notch and meeting so many other alpacas enthusiasts was an educational experience.

Virginia State Fair - Exhibition October 1st & 3rd, 2004

Click on the dates below to view the many pictures taken during the Virginia State Fair exhibition.

October 3rd - Could not have had a more beautiful day!  Anastasia and Impact drew quite a crowd and they enjoyed every minute of it.  I didn't know that alpacas could be such "hams"!

October 1st - Busy, busy, busy - approximately 3,700 school age children visited the barn at the fair.  The alpacas drew a huge crowd as well as the other animals in the barn.  The piglets were running around their pen chasing one another.  Several calves were born, two in the wee morning hours.  We set up our boys and got under way early, as did another farm, Rolling Meadows Farm and their two female alpacas.

Virginia State Fair - Show August 23, 2004

What a fun day!  This was the first year for the Alpaca Show at the State Fair and we all learned a great deal.  Volunteering was a treat, as we learned about the behind the scenes activities.  Many thanks to Marian Bruffy for preparing the initial paperwork and overseeing the events, Jim Perry of Ambler's Alpacas for gathering together the volunteers and wearing many hats that day like Ring Steward and assisting in color checking along with Carol Mitchell of Rolling Meadow Alpacas.  Jay Mitchell of Rolling Meadows Alpacas took over the announcing from Rick Stumpf, Tommy Royster of Crosswinds Farm attended the show ring gate.  A special thanks to Rick Stumpf of Prairie Lake Alpacas for getting us started in the announcing and clerk positions.  Of course, we could not have had the show without judge, Ruth Inglefield!

New Kent County Fair - August 21, 2004

We really enjoyed participating in the County Fair this year and hope to do it again next year.  A special thanks to Jim Perry & Patty Richards of Ambler's Alpacas, Fred Bahr and his "vocal" goats, Stan Trout with his camera and everyone that stopped by the petting area to learn more about alpacas!!!!

We could not have gotten through the day without Kirsten!!!!
